Michael Bowlus has spent his career in the financial services industry. He has a broad range of expertise in most areas of a bank – from operations to sales to starting an international services department. He is a subject matter expert in the Financial Institutions’ requirements of various areas: cash management, compliance, vendor management to name some. These skills make him an invaluable piece of each partnerships he forms.
While at a community bank Michael was a stellar performer and asset in the Accounting and Finance Departments due to his ability to quickly learn new software applications and core processing system. He also created new procedures for various roles.
Michael progressed in his 13-year career at a correspondent bank. Early on he processed wires on Fedline and expertly performed software installation and technical support/trouble shooting. Being the primary contact for banks raising capital helped him with his contract negotiations skills and built this area of business so much that he dominated the market and helped open over 80% of the de novo banks on the West Coast prior to the Great Recession. This also gave Michael the exposure to the C-Level executives of these clients, where he was able to employ his consultative sales skills in order for them to start utilizing other services once the capital-raising phase was completed.
Michael has a proven ability to develop, organize and streamline new processes and procedures while maintaining the highest level of client service and complying with regulatory requirements.
He is an operations guru and brilliant client development manager who is well respected by colleagues and clients. Known to be a great motivator, cross-trainer and developer for each individual he managed.
